Rescuing two of the most abused dog breeds on the planet is no easy task.

From the sanctuaries that rescue the animals, to the adoption centers that place them in new homes, to the advocacy groups that fight to protect them, it takes a lot of work to save even a few of the thousands of Galgos and Podencos abandoned each year.

In short, it takes a village.

Galgopod.org would like to acknowledge some of the many individuals and other non-specific galgo or podenco organizations that make up “the village”.  They have devoted their time and energy to this cause:

Petra Postma is an animal activist and professional photographer.  Most of the photographs used on this website were taken by her.

Kate Sievers is a professional graphic artist and web designer.

Bill Wimbiscus is a former newspaper writer and editor with way too many dogs.

It takes a village to rescue, rehabilitate and relocate an abused animal.
